Player of the Week honors go to Hogsett and Madden
It's the 2nd time that the American League Player of 
the Week award goes to New York (A)'s catcher <a href=p1668.html>Alexander 
Hogsett</a>. Alexander was on fire, hitting .765 with 
2 HR and 8 RBI. The National League's best player of 
the week was Pittsburgh's <a href=p110.html>David Madden</a>, 
who wins the award for the 12th time in his career. 
David pounded opposing pitchers, hitting .458 with 
6 HR and 12 RBI while slugging 1.333. His season numbers 
are: .282 AVG, 142 hits, 39 doubles, no triples and 
28 bombs, along with 99 RBI and 70 runs scored.
